Smartphone Review : HTC U12 Plus(2018)

HTC U12 Plus

HTC has come up with new variant(model) this year, HTC U12 plus which got released recently 2018.

HTC U12 plus is a powerful, faster and solid built smartphone. It has been able to allure its visitor with its beautiful design, great screen, impressive camera and different captivating features.
What the phone fails is in its price range i.e. $ 800, which is merely higher in compared with the other phones of the same range as the pixel 2XL, Galaxy S9 Plus, and others.
Here I have discussed some of the main features of HTC U12 plus:

1.    Design
                   •    Strong and rounded design
                   •    Transparent Blue and Red Flame both striking

This time HTC has designed its new model HTC U12 plus rather different than the previous models HTC M8 or HTC 10. Designed with an aluminum body, the phone is mostly made out of glass, which gives a premium feel to its users.

2.    Display
•    Longer and high-resolution display
•    Color reproduction(moderate)
The HTC U12 has one of the best and competitive screen when compared to its competitors.
It has a 6-inch screen with 18:9 1440X2880 resolution but lacks the top notch. The screen uses the super LCD display technology which is quite fine without being amazing. This display works quite wonderful for watching youtube HDR 10 videos.
Having a quite tall and big display, the phone doesn’t allow you to swipe down on fingerprint sensor to pull notification shade. Its new smart display feature allows you to set an ambient screen to appear only when the phone is awake or turn it ON all the times. This feature may charge out a little extra battery from the device, as it has an LCD display.

3.    Performance
The phone runs in Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 soc processor at 2.8 GHz backed with 6 GB of RAM. Multitasking or even heavy gaming is handled with ease by the U12 plus.
The Geekbench mark 4 single scores for HTC U12 Plus is 2362 which is less in compared with the Galaxy S9 and one plus 6.

4.    Hardware

HTC U12 plus comes with 64 GB and 128 GB storage space variant. It also has an external expansion capacity up to 2 TB.

The phone has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, which is quite a quick one. The handset also implements the own face unlock feature. The two new improved boom sound speakers of the phone offer a quite exceptional audio.

5.    Camera

HTC includes two rear-facing cameras – primary 12 MP wide-angle sensor with f/1.75 aperture and a 16 MP  telephoto lens with f/2.6 ap.

It takes very good shots in good lights but doesn’t quite impress in its low-light performance. Furthermore, the camera features other modes like panorama, hyper-lapse, and slow-mode etc.

6.    Battery
The phone’s 3500 mah battery does a quite great job for a full day usage if used moderately. On a heavy usage like gaming, it can work for about 3-4 hours a day.
The phone does not support wireless charging.

With great features and design, smartphones come along with some defect or cons too. Here I have listed some of the pros and cons of HTC U2 Plus.

               Pros                                                       Cons
•    Eye-catching design                           -  Average Battery Life
•    Beautiful camera                                -  Absence of USB Type C-Adapter
•    Bright beautiful                                   -  Wireless Charging (Not Available)
•    IP68 water resistance                         -  High Price Range
•    Speed Performance
•    Great audio
